Pregnancy Yoga at theyogahutch

Our pregnancy yoga courses focus on a holistic approach to pregnancy and birth.

The gentle classes stretch and tone your body, improve energy levels and boost your vitality and wellbeing.

Pregnancy yoga can be practiced any time after 12-14 weeks (after your first scan). Our courses run continually and pregnant mothers can enroll for a six week course. If you prefer you can book in and pay each time you come. Classes are suitable whether or not you have practiced yoga before.

The classes will give you time to nurture yourself and connect with your growing baby, whilst preparing you for birth and motherhood.

Within a typical class we will begin with focusing on improving the quality of your breath and learning breathing techniques to assist through your pregnancy, labour and post-natally.
We then move onto a warm up sequence and soft grounding sun-salutations relaxing the abdomen and finding space in the hips and pelvis.

Further poses will include standing poses to improve stamina and strength in preparing for childbirth and seated postures adapted to suit the varying stages of pregnancy. The focus and structure of each class varies as you explore different aspects of your bodies and pregnancies. Over time you will develop a greater self awareness that will put you in tune with your baby.

Many of the postures specific for pregnancy look easy, but when undertaken with consideration of the sensations inside your body, the lengthening of your spine and the movement of your breath, they are dynamic and your body becomes simultaneously relaxed and energised.

Our yoga classes are a perfect way to enhance the enjoyment of pregnancy and relieve common discomforts such as back pain and pelvic pain, heartburn and exhaustion.

Classes finish with yoga relaxation techniques which ease the anxieties you may be feeling in pregnancy and bring confidence to your body, mind and spirit..
